i looked this woman up and she died last year, here is part of her obit:

Laurie was an adamant advocate who identified a need, worked tirelessly to make a difference, and always displayed kindness and compassion for those who needed and deserved her guardianship. In service of this heartfelt desire to help others, Laurie established Guardian Resource Specialist, LLC in 2010. Laurie used this platform to educate her children and grandchildren on the importance of giving back and helping those in need. Laurie set an expectation for hard work, self-accountability, living with integrity, and most importantly respect for humanity.

Laurie and Charlie moved to Florida in 1987, where she achieved multiple lifelong goals with the loving support and encouragement from Charlie. She successfully co-established a domestic abuse shelter for woman, owned and operated two Assistant Living Facilities, and ran for the House of Representatives. (She received 41% of the vote).
